Senior Bowl Director Gives High Praise to Cole Bishop
Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy had high praise for Cole Bishop as he broke down his senior bowl, combine, and in game footage via X.
As the draft inches closer and pro day's have come and gone, players have exhausted every opportunity to raise their draft stock before the big day and now is the opportunity for scouts and brass to examine every bit of footage and statistics to determine who will be next up in their franchise.
Albeit not a scout or upper brass of an NFL organization, Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy broke down a bunch of Bishop's film from his senior bowl outing to his in-game performances and raved about his on the field abilities and knack to preform well in the pre-draft process and events.
Nagy mentioned in his post that Bishop has done three things in particular to boost his draft stock. Bishop "proved he has man-cover skills at the senior bowl after not being asked to do it much for the Utes", he had "elite combine testing", and he "impressed with FBI and maturity in team interviews".
The Utah safety was originally projected as a late third-round pick, however, he has execs now saying that it would be a miracle if he made it out of the second-round, which would then see him join fellow Ute Jonah Elliss early on Day 2.
It's looking more and more likely that the Utah to NFL defensive back pipeline will strengthen with Cole Bishop and Miles Battle, and Bishop in particular is shaping up to be an immediate impact player in the locker room and on the field for any team lucky enough to draft him.
