WSU Basketball Great Klay Thompson Signing With Dallas Mavericks on 3-Year Deal

Per reporting from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Klay Thompson's brief time as an NBA free agent has come to an end. Woj posted to X that Thompson will join the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year contract worth approximately $50 million.

Players cannot officially sign with new teams until July 6.
Thompson previously had played his entire 13-year NBA career with the Golden State Warriors. The former Cougar was selected with the 11th overall pick in 2011. Thompson won four NBA championships and earned five all-star nods with the Warriors in that time. Thompson has a career average of 19.6 points per game in the NBA with a three-point shooting percentage of 41.3%.
Thompson played three collegiate seasons in Pullman (2008, 2009, 2010). His 242 three-point shots made are a program record. He is also third in WSU men's basketball history with 1,756 points.
Thompson joins a Mavericks team that won the NBA's Western Conference last season, reaching the NBA Finals before falling to the Boston Celtics.
