Gambler's Corner: Week Twelve
For the second time this season, we walked away with a blemish-free slate of picks after last week.

Tennessee (+6) versus Missouri
I'm a big fan of underdogs playing at home and I'm also a closet "Vol for Life" member. West Virginia fans' memory of Tennessee is probably based on what they saw in Charlotte to open the season, but I'm here to tell you that Vols team is not who they are now. Minus Alabama and Florida, Tennessee is outscoring its opponents 121-13 when playing in Knoxville and has only given up an average of 110 passing yards during those contests. More importantly, the Vols have finally realized its potential with its ground game, tallying 215 yards last week against then-No. 11 Kentucky. Tennessee plays infinitely better inside of Neyland Stadium and if you're feeling frisky, take the Vols straight up along with the points.
Alabama (-51.5) versus Citadel
Like cheese? Well, here you go. Throw out the fact that Tua Tagovailoa is a little banged up and that his back-up Jalen Hurts is still dealing with an ankle issue. Alabama's offense will need neither of them this weekend if it ever comes to that. But Tua will start against the Cadets on Saturday and when he comes out of the game at halftime, the Tide will have already covered the spread. The last time Citadel played a top-five opponent, it lost 61-3 at Clemson in 2017.
Iowa State at Texas (over 47)
Since losing to TCU in its fourth game of the season, Iowa State has run amok in the Big 12, winning its last five games. And during those five games, the Cyclones are averaging 34 points per game. Texas, on the other hand, has averaged 37 points per game in its last five contests. The Cyclones will also be without All-Big 12 running back David Montgomery in the first half, forcing freshman Brock Purdy to put the ball in the air more often than not. One of two things is bound to happen. Texas will either run the score up with Montgomery sidelined or Purdy will keep Iowa State in the game with his arm. Either way, 47 points seems like a more than achievable bar for these two offenses to surpass.
