The Pride of West Virginia had a Special Audience Today

Today, the Pride of West Virginia had their first full run-through of their famous pregame show at Mountaineer Field, and in the stands, they had a special group of people cheering for them.

Yep, that would be head coach Neal Brown and the 2019 West Virginia football squad.

In the past, Coach Bill Stewart used to talk to the band at the beginning of Band Camp every season. Oliver Luck once made an appearance, too, and Dana Holgorsen said a few words back in 2011. Since then, not much connection has been made between the two units.

Coach Neal Brown made it a priority to re-establish this a new union.

As a former member of the Pride myself, I cannot express how amazing that feeling is when the football team comes out and supports you. I never got to experience that, but it felt great when Coach Stewart came and spoke to us and let us know how much he cared about us. The band devotes countless hours to perfecting its routine over the season, so it's always gratifying to see the football team show their love and support. If nothing else, it's a reminder that the Mountaineers are all one big family.
