Top 10 offensive skill players West Virginia will face in 2019

10. RB Darius Anderson- TCU

The Horned Frogs will have to lean on the run game early on in the season, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Darius Anderson is a versatile back and has the potential to be a threat in the pass game as well.

He will be splitting duties with fellow senior Sewo Olonilua, but Anderson is poised for a breakout senior campaign.

9. WR Collin Johnson- Texas

The Texas offense has been fairly balanced during Tom Herman's tenure, so don't expect Johnson (or any other Longhorn receiver) to put up monstrous numbers. However, Big 12 fans should still expect his numbers to improve with Lil' Jordan Humphrey gone from Austin.

8. RB Chuba Hubbard- Oklahoma State

No Justice Hill? No problem.

Oklahoma State will certainly lean on its run game in 2019 with a new quarterback in the fold, and Hubbard is a hell of an asset to have in the backfield. He showed his star potential at times last year, but never really had a chance to carry the load because of how good Hill was.

If the Cowboys don't get much production out of Spencer Sanders or Dru Brown at quarterback, there's no doubt that Hubbard could pop for 1,200 rushing yards. Yes, 1,200. He's that good.

7. WR Denzel Mims- Baylor

With all the attention centered around Hollywood Brown, Tylan Wallace, Gary Jennings and David Sills V over the past couple of years, the one guy that has continuously been overlooked is Baylor's Denzel Mims.

After a breakout sophomore season in 2017 going over 1,000 yards, he took a slight dip in production in '18, finishing the season with 800 yards. In 2019, there should be no reason he doesn't hit the 1,000 yard mark again, especially with an experienced Charlie Brewer at quarterback.

6. RB Kennedy Brooks- Oklahoma

This No. 6 spot should really be the Oklahoma running backs as a unit. It doesn't really matter which one you put here; they're all going to have a really good season. Trey Sermon and T.J. Pledger will be equally as good as Brooks, if not slightly better, but based off what I've seen so far, I believe Brooks will eventually pull away as the lead back.

Recently, there was some speculation that Brooks may no longer be a part of the team due to a Title IX investigation. He has since been cleared and, pending any new issues, will definitely terrorize Big 12 defenses this fall.

5. WR Jalen Reagor- TCU

Talk about fast. This kid is every definition of the word.

Reagor had a breakout season in 2018, increasing his catch total from 33 to 72 and his yardage total from 576 to 1,061. What could kill Reagor's production in 2019 is the unknown under center for TCU. The Frogs have a six-man competition brewing at the position, and if they find a good one, look out.

West Virginia's corners will have a hard time containing Reagor's speed. He has the Tavon factor -- get this guy the ball in space, and just let him do his thing.

4. RB Larry Rountree III- Missouri

As the lone non-conference opponent player on the list, Rountree is an NFL-caliber back. Through his first two seasons, he has rushed for over 1,900 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

The Tigers will have a strong ground game, thanks in part to their mobile quarterback Kelly Bryant. Read options and RPO's will likely be the majority of Missouri's offensive play calls. West Virginia defensive coordinator Vic Koenning will have to load the box to stop the run. The magic number for the Mountaineers is 80 -- if they can hold Rountree to under 80 yards on the ground, I like their chances.

3. WR CeeDee Lamb- Oklahoma

The Sooners have had some extremely talented wide receivers over the last handful of years, and this guy right here may be the most explosive. Yes, potentially even more so than Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Dede Westbrook.

Lamb, like Jalen Reagor, is an absolute burner. Holding him to under 100 yards in a game is going to be a stiff challenge for any team. He's more than just explosive, though -- he has great hands and is a solid route runner.

2. RB Pooka Williams- Kansas

Williams, who will miss Kansas' season-opener against FCS Indiana State, is the Jayhawks' best shot at reaching a bowl game in Year 1 under Les Miles. The offense will likely remain a major project, so the brain trust in Lawrence will need Williams to spark momentum and put points on the board.

Fortunately for Kansas, Williams is an absolute burner that kind of reminds me of former Oregon speedster De'Anthony Thomas.

1. WR Tylan Wallace- Oklahoma State

After finishing as the runner up to Alabama's Jerry Jeudy for the 2018 Biletnikoff Award, Tylan Wallace is returning to college football as a man on a mission. He was a big part of the Cowboys comeback win versus West Virginia last year, hauling in two massive touchdowns.

Wallace served as James Washington's backup prior to 2018, so no one really knew who he really was. That won't be the case heading into 2019. He's a bit different then some of the other top Big 12 receivers; his big frame allows him to be physical and get 50/50 balls at a high rate.

There is little doubt he will contend for the Biletnikoff once again this year.
