Smith Earns Conference Player of the Week Honor

Smith earned her first Player of the Week honor after averaging 26 points, six rebounds, four assists, and 53.1 percent from the field against Oklahoma State and Baylor.

This week, fifth-year Madisen Smith added one more award to her WVU legacy.

Smith earned her first Big 12 Player of the Week honors following games against Oklahoma State and Baylor; the latter of which, Smith notched a career-high 30 points, nearly half of WVU's 63 in the win.

Smith is the tenth Mountaineer to earn the Big 12 Player of the Week honor; the last of which was Kysre Gondrezick on Feb. 1, 2021. Smith joined Baylor's Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (Freshman of the Week) in this iteration of the awards.

Smith and the Mountaineers now head to Kansas City for the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship. The team is set for a rematch with Oklahoma State at noon ET on Friday.
