UPDATED: Best VEL 46 (MP7) Loadout Build for Call of Duty MW2 Ranked Play

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 03 has brought some changes to guns and how you should build them. One of the questions is; what's the best build for the VEL 46 SMG? With changes and updates to the game, attachments to weapons can vastly improve its performance and your overall gameplay. One of the guns players are switching to in Ranked Play is the VEL 46 SMG. Here's how you should build the gun to get the most out of it.

*This build with its attachments is meant for CoD MW2 Ranked Play but also works for Warzone and Multiplayer, where tuning is allowed.

Underbarrel

FSS Sharkfin 90

A universal underbarrel that can be used with any gun and is used by many Pro Call of Duty League players. What you need for an SMG is speed and quickness, which is what the Sharkfin offers. The speed to aim down sight (ADS) and the quickness to fly around the map makes this an easy decision. 

Muzzle

Bruen Pendulum

While the Bruen reduces handling and ADS speed, it improves your recoil control, making the VEL and more accurate with its rate of fire. You can make up for the reductions with your other attachments. 

Barrel

Tango 228 Barrel

A barrel on an SMG can really slow down its ability to ADS quickly and take away from its movement, but the Tango 228's damage and bullet velocity are very much worth the reduction in speed it gives. It allows you to hit shots from all ranges, even though, as an SMG, you shouldn't have to worry about long-range shots.

Stock

Demo RXT Stock

While it's important to have movement ability with your SMG, adding larger stocks will decrease the speed of the weapon. Adding the Demo RXT Stock to the build keeps the movement speed you need as an SMG. Keeping that ADS speed and quick movement will be key to winning close-range gunfights.

Rear Grip

Schlager Soldier Grip

To cap off the best VEL build, add the Schlager Soldier Grip to improve the overall sprint-to-fire speed and ADS speed. It takes a recoil control reduction, but with the stock we have attached, that reduction is a moot point.
