Major 4 of the Call of Duty League didn't go exactly as Boston Breach hoped. They squeaked into the 6th seed after Qualifiers, before quickly getting bounced to the Losers Bracket in the first round by OpTic Texas. A loss shortly after that to the Toronto Ultra spelled the end of the tournament for them.

The talent level of Boston is too good not to make deep runs in each Major. They currently sit 7th in the CDL Standings after Major 4 and are on the brink of missing Champs with early exits. A roster change was evident, but this one was surprising.

Boston announced Tuesday, April 25, that they were moving Dylan "Nero" Koch to the bench and bringing back Reece "Vivid" Drost to the starting roster after being replaced by Kyle "Kremp" Haworth on April 4.

With the level of talent the Call of Duty League has, sometimes you will see interesting moves that might leave you scratching your head. Nero is a stellar player who can pop off at any moment of any match. But mediocre finishes in Majors must end, and things must turn around.

Nero had a rough Major 4 in the kills department. We're used to him with high kill games and a strong K/D, but after Major 2, he's struggled outside of SnD. Nero had an overall K/D of 0.90, with an SnD K/D of 1.15, which slightly inflates the overall.

The reasoning behind the benching is uncertain. There's no doubting the talent level of Nero, but we can assume it's due to the performance of Boston as a team, particularly Nero. The way Kremp came in and performed, and the communication Vivid provides could turn the tides for Boston.

We will update the story if we hear more information.
