Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be coming out on November 30, 2023.

Right after the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Finals wrapped up at Evo 2023, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising was announced on the biggest fighting game stage in the world.

Director Tetsuya Fukuhara took to the massive Michelob ULTRA Arena stage to reveal that a sequel to Granblue Fantasy Versus was finally a reality. The 2.5D fighting game, developed by Arc System Works, has been a huge hit with the gacha community for its Fall Guys-like minigames and popular characters.

It was first speculated that there would be a massive update to the existing Granblue Fantasy Versus game, but Fukuhara expressed that he wanted to create a sequel. That is now very much happening.

You can pre-order the game starting on August 7, 2023. A free demo is also out now, featuring four characters and some mini-games and levels. There will then be a second online beta in the fall that will have lobby matches and crossplay.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will feature updates from the first game based on fan feedback. This includes rollback netcode and crossplay. New mechanics have also been announced, including dash attacks and auto-comb-based triple attacks. The crowd was also amused by the lobby-based mini-games that look a lot like Fall Guys.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the PC.
