Helldivers 2 is a co-op shooter that's been getting excellent reviews for its unique narrative, over-the-top moments, and explosions. But the sequel can't be played by everyone right now. Here is all you need to know about Helldivers 2 crossplay and which platforms to play it on.
Where Can You Play Helldivers 2?
Helldivers 2 has become the biggest PlayStation launch on Steam, even passing God of War. At one point it reached 81,840 concurrent players on PC alone.
Helldivers 2 was launched for PC through Steam and for PlayStation 5 simultaneously, the first Sony game to get this treatment.
Will Helldivers 2 Come to Xbox?
Most likely not.
Microsoft has been seemingly ahead of the game when it comes to exclusives, but it now looks like Xbox players feel a bit left out after the launch of Helldivers 2 on PC and PlayStation 5.
Helldivers 2 is developed by Arrowhead but was published and licensed under PlayStation. This makes it pretty unlikely the game will be on any Xbox consoles. When Helldivers 2 was first announced, the trailer also stated that it would be exclusive to PlayStation and PC.
Does Helldivers 2 Have Crossplay Between PC and PlayStation?
Yes, there is currently crossplay between PC and PlayStation 5.
If you have friends on another system, you can invite them to play with you easily. Head to the Options menu and find your Social tab. Go to the bottom and you'll see Friend Code.
When you tap this button, you will get a randomly generated eight digit number you can send to your friends. Once they enter this in, you'll become friends and be able to see each other on your Social tab in your friend list.
Does Helldivers 2 Have Local Co-Op?
Helldivers 2 does not have couch co-op or split screen options at the moment.
It's possible that this feature will come in the future but you can currently only play with friends online. Right now, however, split screen is probably too much for the PS5 to handle
