Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Logo Hints at Shadow's Big Screen Debut
The Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase is going crazy and it's about something that's rated PG. The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie has shared a first look at its logo and it's pointing at some exciting possibilities.
Earlier today, the official Sonic the Hedgehog X account showed off its trailer for the third movie in the series. Immediately, fans noticed the similarities between the logo and the logo for Sonic Adventure 2. Does that mean...Shadow is coming?
Is Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3?
It's looking like Shadow will be in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
The second film was centered around Sonic teaming up with Tails in an attempt to find an emerald to keep it from Dr. Robotnik, resulting in a globe-wide chase. Dr. Robotnik has teamed up with Knuckles but it's still not enough when Sonic turns into Super Sonic to take them down. In an after-credit scene, however, GUN is seen looking for Dr. Robotnik's body, meaning he may not be dead after all.
With 2 adding so many iconic characters from the video game series, many have been wondering who will make an appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The most requested character has been, of course, Shadow the Hedgehog.
Now, the official Sonic account has hinted that Shadow is coming to the third film. The teaser read: "What you've seen is only a shadow of things to come..."
If that's not enough, players noticed the logo looks a lot like the logo from Sonic Adventure 2, which heavily featured Shadow the Hedgehog.
Who is Shadow the Hedgehog?
Shadow is the main antagonist in Sonic the Hedgehog. He is Sonic's arch rival, looking almost exactly like him except with darker colors. He was actually created to be the "Ultimate Life Form" by Dr. Robotnik by using Black Doom's DNA.
The original reason Shadow was created was in hopes of curing Dr. Robotnik's granddaughter of a deadly incurable illness. Unfortunately, Shadow was instead captured and put into stasis by GUN, who called him a "threat to humanity."
This backstory creates a very interesting possibility for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It looks like Dr. Robotnik may return after all, bringing Shadow with him. It's unclear what will happen with Shadow once he is created in this timeline.
No matter what happens, it's clear that the fanbase will be going gaga for the edgy hedgehog.
