How to Get a Shiny Gimmighoul in the Tera Raid Event
The Nintendo Direct was a goldmine for Pokémon players. On top of the massive DLC that was showcased during the livestream, trainers were given a surprise right after the initial announcement: new Tera Raid Battles.
The 22nd Tera Raid event is here. From June 21st to July 2nd 2023, Pokémon players can take part in this event within Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
What Is the Tera Raid Event in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
Every Tera Raid event provides trainers with the chance to encounter a new Shiny of a Pokémon. To get the exclusive Shiny Pokémon during the Tera Raid event, you’ll need to beat a specific challenge, which often means tough battles lie ahead. The specifics change with each event.
The Gimmighoul Tera Raid Event
This time around, the Tera Raid event revolves around the Coin Chest Pokémon, Gimmighoul. This new Pokémon was introduced in Scarlet and Violet to mixed opinions. Some trainers enjoyed its disguised appearance and sneaky personality while others felt it was another lazy inanimate object designed by Pokémon.
No matter how you feel about Gimmighoul, you’ll definitely want a Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul since this variation doesn’t appear in the regular gameplay. Here’s how to get one yourself.
How to Get Shiny Gimmighoul in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
During this event, you can take part in 1 to 5-star Tera Raid Battles. The goal is to find a 5-star Tera Raid Battle where you’ll face a Chest Form Gimmighoul. You’ll have a “small chance” of encountering a Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul, according to Pokémon.
A special promotion is running alongside the event in hopes of helping you better catch a Chest Form Gimmighoul. Enter the password found in the second trailer for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero in the Mystery Gift area of your game and you will get 10 Nuggets, 10 Rare Candies, and 1 Friend Ball. Use this to try and catch a Chest Form Gimmighoul.
How to Enter the Password
If you want to use the password for your gifts, make sure your Nintendo Switch system is connected to the internet. You’ll also need to have a user profile linked to your Nintendo account. You’ll need to have played the game for about 1.5 hours to have access to the Mystery Gift feature.
Remember that the password can only be used once per save data.
How to Get Shiny Gholdengo
To evolve your Gimmighoul, you need to collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins. The fastest way to get these coins is by fast traveling to the 14 different watchtowers in Paldea. Each one has a Chest Form Gimmighoul that you can battle so you’ll collect enough coins in no time.
