- Starting on Friday, January 26th, and running through Sunday, January 28th, players can find Mass Outbreaks of Gulpin, Stunky, Skrelp, and Clauncher in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have released details about the next Mass Outbreak event and this time it features four different Pokemon. Players will be able to find hordes of Gulpin, Stunky, Skrelp, and Clauncher throughout their world.
Why are Mass Outbreaks important? Whether you’re looking for a shiny variant, a specific title for a Pokemon, or just looking for something with good IVs, Mass Outbreaks are the best time to do it.
Mass Outbreaks Event Details
The Mass Outbreak Event for Gulpin, Stunky, Skrelp, and Clauncher in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is scheduled to run from 00:00 UTC on Friday, January 26th through 23:59 UTC on Sunday, January 28th. To participate in the event you must first download the latest event data, this can be done by pressing the L button while in the game’s menu. Once this is done specific Pokémon will start appearing in mass outbreaks all across the zones in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
What Are Mass Outbreaks?
If you happen to be new to the world of Pokémon Violet and Scarlet, you may be wondering what a Mass Outbreak is exactly and what is so special about it?
Mass Outbreaks are when a specific type of Pokémon appears at a much higher frequency. Players will be able to see tons of these Pokémon at once and even when you catch or defeat them, they will continue to spawn.
These Mass Outbreaks are an excellent chance to hunt for Shiny Versions of these Pokémon. Or search for a specific type of Mark on the Pokémon. To check and see if a Pokémon you’ve caught has a mark, you’ll need to select that Pokémon in your party or your boxes and then select ‘Check Summary.’
From the status summary screen, navigate right or left to the memories screen. If a Pokémon has a mark but is not currently displaying a title you can assign one to them if they have it. Pokémon will then show up in battle wearing their title.
Finding a Pokémon with a mark is very difficult, but during events like these, the chances of finding one are significantly increased.
Additional Tips for Mass Outbreaks
To take full advantage of the mass outbreaks featured during the event we highly recommend that you prepare a sandwich that grants you Sparkling Power Level 3, Encounter Power Level 3, and Title Power Level 3. This sandwich will significantly increase your odds of encountering shiny Poison-type Pokémon (Stunky, Skrelp, and Gulpin) with marks and can be crafted with the following ingredients:
- Green Bell Pepper x1
- Salty Herba Mystica x1
- Spicy Herba Mystica x1
And for Water-type Pokemon (Skrelp and Clauncher) you should use the following ingredients:
- Cucumber x1
- Salty Herba Mystica x2
