MagicCon 2024 Schedule Revealed - Dates, Format, Secret Lair Showdown
Magic! The Gathering has been secretly putting together three MagicCon events for 2024, each including a Premier Play event. Wizards of the Coast is urging the TCG to start planning their 2024 vacations accordingly.
Here is what we know so far about the MagicCon events in 2024.
MagicCon 2024 Schedule
MagicCon: Chicago is coming February 23-25, featuring Pro Tour Murders at Karlov Manor. This will be followed by MagicCon: Amsterdam on June 28-30, featuring Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3, with MagicCon: Las Vegas bringing the Magic World Championship 30 to fans on October 25-27.

- MagicCon Las Vegas: October 25-27
MagicCon events will not only have a Premier Play tournament but featured artists, panels, events, vendors, immersive experiences, casual play, and ticketed play events like the Secret Lair Showdown.
2024 will also have a standalone Pro Tour called Pro Thunder Junction. This will take place in the second quarter of 2024 but other details are still unknown.

What Is the Secret Lair Showdown?
The Secret Lair Showdown is a competition at each MagicCon that features exclusive Secret Lair prize cards. The format is Modern and more information will become available soon.
Each player who participates in a Secret Lair Showdown Qualifier will earn a Spell Pierce. If you qualify for the Secret Lair Showdown Championship on Sunday, you will get a special prize card version of Murktide Regent.
Then the winner will receive Dark Ritual. There will be four Dark Ritual prize cards total, with one being given out at each MagicCon. There will also be a fourth opportunity to get this rare card but the information hasn’t been revealed just yet.

- Pro Tour Modern Horizons 3: Modern Constructed and Modern Horizons 3 Draft
- Magic World Championship 30: Standard Constructed and Duskmourn: House of Horror Draft
“We're thrilled to bring MagicCon events to new locations and share how these events continue to evolve,” the official Magic blog stated.
More information about MagicCon: Chicago will become available on November 21. You’ll be able to get a badge on November 27.
