Three-time NBA champion B.J. Armstrong talked about this year’s Milwaukee Bucks team on a recent episode of the 48 Minutes podcast. He brought up the fact that you cannot win a championship without having the ability to lock down and play defense, something the Bucks have done very little of this season.

“Anytime you have Giannis, that is a pretty good start, but when you talk about championship-caliber basketball, you have to address these three things: you have to defend, you have to rebound, and you have to pass the ball,” said Armstrong. “They have been awful on the defensive end; there is no way to hide it or disguise it. They have been awful. In spite of that, they have still found a way to win and be one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA.”

The Bucks rank in the bottom third of the league when it comes to defensive efficiency. They will have to make some adjustments down the second half of the season if they want to have a legitimate shot to win another championship this year. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game this season.
