Praise for Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards continues to pile up, most recently from the Team USA coaching staff.

Miami Heat head coach and Team USA assistant coach Erik Spoelstra is the latest member of USA's coaching staff to get excited by coaching the 22-year-old Wolves guard.

Asked by a CNN Philippines reporter if anybody on the current USA squad reminds Spoelstra of Miami great Dwyane Wade, Spoelstra chuckled and said, "We know who that is. It's hard not to look at Anthony Edwards and not see Dwayne Wade in him."

"I'm not a guy for comparisons," Spoelstra said. "I'm not. But the way he moves, the way he competes, the way he electrifies a crowd. Yes, that reminds me of number three and I have told Anthony that. I feel like I'm going back in time. It's making me younger again. I'm really enjoying it."

Edwards and Team USA are set to tip off against New Zealand Saturday morning in their first game in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
