BREAKING: 2023 NBA 1st Round Pick Ruled Out For Remainder Of Season

Bilal Coulibaly (Washington Wizards) has been ruled out for the remainder of the NBA season.

On Sunday evening, the Washington Wizards lost to the Boston Celtics (at home) by a score of 130-104.

Rookie Bilal Coulibaly did not play in the game, and it's now been announced that he will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Via The Washington Wizards: "Official: Bilal Coulibaly will miss the remainder of the regular season after being diagnosed with a right wrist fracture.

The injury, which will be treated conservatively, was suffered when Coulibaly fell during the game on March 16 at Chicago."

Coulibaly was the seventh pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

He finished his first season in the league with averages of 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range in 63 games.

Since he is only 19 years old, and the Wizards have had a tough season, it makes sense for the team to be highly cautious.

The Wizards will not qualify for the 2024 NBA playoffs, as they are currently the 15th seed (last place) in the Eastern Confernece with an 11-57 record in 68 games.

They have gone 2-8 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a four-game losing streak.

Following the Celtics, the Wizards will play their next game on Monday evening when they host the Houston Rockets in Washington, D.C.

The franchise last made the NBA playoffs during the 2021 season when Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal were still on the roster.
