The Lakers come into the night with a 38-38 record in 76 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 6-4 in their last ten games and 17-20 in the 37 games they have played on the road.

In 2020, the Lakers won the NBA Championship over the Miami Heat, but they are coming off a season where they went 33-49 and missed the playoffs.

They are 5-5 in their last ten games and a solid 21-17 in the 38 games they have hosted on their home floor at the Target Center.

Last year, the Timberwolves made the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2018 season (they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round in six games).

Both teams are currently in one of the four play-in tournament spots.
