LeBron James Shares Update On Foot Injury Following Lakers-Mavericks Game On Sunday

During their win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James appeared to sustain a right foot injury.

In order for the Los Angeles Lakers to not only make the playoffs, but be competitive the rest of the season, they will need LeBron James to be healthy and at 100 percent.

All season long though, James has been dealing with nagging ailments, specifically to his left foot/ankle.

During Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, a game in which the Lakers came back from down 27 points to win, LeBron appeared to injure his right foot while driving to the basketball for a layup late in the third quarter.

While he was not forced out of the game due to this injury, James was in some pain on the ground for a minute or two, telling the team's training staff that he "heard a pop."

From this point in the game on, James did not look like himself, but thanks to Anthony Davis and Jarred Vanderbilt, the Lakers were able to come away with a 111-108 victory, putting them one game behind the 10-seeded New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference standings.

"It's been better that's for sure," James told reporters after the game in regards to how his foot felt. "But I definitely wasn't going to go to the locker room and not finish the game out tonight. Just understood the importance of the game, and then with the momentum that we had, I felt like we could still win after being down. We'll monitor it the next couple days, see how it feels and go from there."

It is definitely a good sign that James was able to play through this injury and help the Lakers win a pivotal game late in the season, but the superstar was in discomfort after the game, as he was seen leaving Dallas with a very visible limp.

"He's good," head coach Darvin Ham said after the game. "Our medical people are looking at him now. He'll be reevaluated again in the morning. So once we get some type of official word tomorrow, we'll go from there. But as of right now, he's good."

The Lakers will not play again until Tuesday night when they continue their road trip against the Memphis Grizzlies. James will very likely be listed as "Questionable" heading into this game regardless of how his evaluation from the team's medical staff goes on Monday.
