OKC Thunder Make Roster Move Before Lakers Game

The Oklahoma City Thunder assigned a player to the G League before Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers in Oklahoma. 

Before the game, the team assigned Ousmane Dieng to the G League.  

Via Brandon Rahbar of Daily Thunder: "Thunder has assigned Ousmane Dieng to the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League. 

Dieng has bounced back and forth this season. He’ll be recalled again soon."

Dieng was the 11th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his second season in the league (all with the Thunder).

He has played in 12 games so far this season and has averages of 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 35.1% from the field and 26.9% from the three-point range.  

As for the Thunder, they are 11-6 in their first 17 games, which has them as the third seed in the Western Conference. 

They are 7-3 over their previous ten games but have lost two games in a row. 

Most recently, the Thunder lost by a score of 106-103 to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center. 

Following the Lakers, the Thunder will travel to Texas to face off against Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday evening. 

The Thunder are coming off a season where they were the tenth seed in the west with a 40-42 record.

Dieng played in 39 games for the Thunder and also spent time in the G League. 

He averaged 4.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 26.5% from the three-point range.
