Jayson Tatum Makes Celtics History In Game 6 Victory Over Atlanta Hawks

Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum made team history with his 30-point performance in Game 6 against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night.

Jayson Tatum continues to grow into one of the best talents in the entire league for the Boston Celtics and he led the Celtics to a first-round series victory in Game 6 against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night.

Defeating the Hawks 128-120, Boston has advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and they will begin preparations for what will be a widely entertaining series against their in-division rivals, the Philadelphia 76ers

In Game 6 against Atlanta, Tatum had yet another dazzling performance with 30 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, making some team history in the victory as well.

This marked Jayson Tatum's 17th playoff game with at least 30 points, passing Paul Pierce for the fourth-most 30-point playoff games in team history.

With four more 30-point games in these playoffs, Tatum could potentially tie Hall-of-Famer Sam Jones for third, but he will not be able to catch either John Havlicek (30) nor Larry Bird (41) this season.

It is truly quite amazing to see Jayson Tatum as high as he is on this list not only because of all the great players in Boston Celtics history, but because Tatum is only 25-years-old and in his sixth season!

Thursday night marked Tatum's 80th career playoff game for Boston, as the Celtics have made the playoffs each season since drafting him third overall in 2017.

Leading the league in total points this year (2,225) and finishing sixth in scoring (30.1 PPG), Tatum has truly turned himself into one of the best scorers in the NBA and it is only a matter of time before he leads this organization to yet another title.

Losing in the NBA Finals a season ago, Jayson Tatum is on a mission to get the Celtics back to the promise land and fix what went wrong a year ago.

If they can get past the 76ers in the next round, Boston will be right on the cusp of achieving what they set out to do entering the 2022-23 season.
