On Monday, the Utah Jazz waived Otto Porter Jr.

The former Georgetown star had been traded (via the Toronto Raptors) last month and did not appear in a game with Utah.

With the Raptors, he averaged 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range in 15 games.

Porter Jr. has now announced that he is retiring from the NBA.

Porter Jr. (Via the Utah Jazz): "For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA. That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire.”

Porter Jr. was the third pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and played part of 11 seasons in the league for the Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic.

His career averages are 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.7% from the field and 39.7% from the three-point range in 527 regular season games.

He also appeared in 50 playoff games (21 starts) and was a key member of the 2022 NBA Champion Warriors.

Porter Jr. was never an All-Star, but he was a solid role player and averaged 11+ points per contest in five different seasons.

As for the Jazz, they are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 28-36 record in 64 games.
