Earlier this week, Ja Morant was seen in a viral social media post, allegedly holding a gun.

Following the video, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that the superstar point guard had been "suspended from all team activities."

On Tuesday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski shared a statement from Morant.

Morant via Wojnarowski: “I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”

Earlier in the evening, NBA commissioner Adam Silver spoke to Malika Andrews on ESPN about Morant (the full clip can be watched here).

Silver: "Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video. We're in the process of investigating it and will figure out exactly what happened to the best we can then.

During the regular season, Morant was suspended for eight games by the NBA due to a similar situation.

Wojnarowski was on ESPN's Get Up (on Monday) and reported that the 23-year-old could be facing "a significant suspension" following the latest incident.

Morant is one of the best players in the league and has led the Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs in three of his first four seasons.

The former Murray State star is coming off a year where he led the franchise to a 51-31 record and he averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

They were the second seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round in six games.
