BREAKING: Milwaukee Bucks Signing Former Miami Heat Player

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Milwaukee Bucks are signing Meyers Leonard.

Meyers Leonard last played in an NBA game in 2021 when he was on the Miami Heat.

On Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the former Illinois star will sign a ten-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: Free agent F/C Meyers Leonard -- out of the NBA since March 2021 after uttering an antisemitic slur on a video game livestream and rehabbing post-surgical nerve damage on his right leg -- is signing a 10-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks."

Leonard is 30 years old, and in 2020, he started 49 games (playing in 51 total) for the Heat with averages of 6.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest.

He also appeared in two NBA Finals games that season.

Before the Heat, Leonard spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Over 447 regular season games, the former 11th overall pick has career averages of 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds on a very impressive 48.2% shooting from the field and 39.0% from the three-point range.

For the Bucks, this is a reasonable risk to take because it's only a ten-day contract, so there is no long-term commitment.

He will provide solid depth off the bench and has nine years of NBA experience.

Right now, the Bucks are the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 41-17 record in 58 games.

They are a half-game behind the Boston Celtics for the first seed and also the hottest team in the league (currently in the middle of a 12-game winning streak).
