BREAKING: Philadelphia 76ers Reportedly Release 2-Year NBA Player

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Philadelphia 76ers will waive Kenneth Lofton Jr.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. has played in 17 games this season for the Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers.       

He is averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 34.9% from the field and 25.0% from the three-point range.    

On Friday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the 76ers will waive Lofton Jr. 

Via Wojnarowski: "The Sixers are waiving two-way forward Kenneth Lofton, sources tell ESPN."

Lofton Jr. has played two years in the NBA and has career averages of 3.9 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 31.0% from the three-point range in 41 regular games.     

He also appeared in four NBA playoff games with Memphis. 

Last season, Lofton Jr. had a fantastic game where he put up 42 points, 14 rebounds and one steal while shooting 17/25 from the field. 

Lofton Jr. had been on a two-way deal with the 76ers, so he has also spent a lot of time in the G League.  

He is averaging 27.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 57.7% from the field and 32.4% from the three-point range in ten regular season games.  

As for the 76ers, they are the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 34-25 record in 59 games. 

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 121-114. 

Following Charlotte, the 76ers will visit Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon in Texas.
