Damian Lillard Made NBA History In Suns-Bucks Game

Damian Lillard made NBA history during Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks are playing Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns (at home) in Wisconsin. 

During the game, All-Star point guard Damian Lillard made NBA history by moving ahead of Hall of Famer Pau Gasol (20,894) for 42nd on the all-time scoring list

Following Gasol, the next player for Lillard to pass will be Hall of Famer Walt Bellamy (20,941). 

Lillard had an excellent start to the game and went into halftime with 14 points, two rebounds and 12 assists while shooting 5/10 from the field and 2/4 from the three-point range in 19 minutes of playing time. 

The former Weber State star is one of the best point guards of all time and made his eighth NBA All-Star Game last month. 

He is currently averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 35.2% from the three-point range in 62 games. 

The Bucks came into the day as the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-24 record in 67 games.

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 114-105.

Lillard had 17 points, three rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one block while shooting 7/16 from the field and 2/7 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

Following the Suns, the Bucks will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they visit Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in Massachusetts.
