Usman Garuba is coming off a season where he averaged 3.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 48.6% field and 40.7% from the three-point range in 75 games for the Houston Rockets.

This summer, the 21-year-old was traded to the Atlanta Hawks, who then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After the Thunder waived Garuba, he became a free agent available to sign with any team in the league.

On Monday, the Golden State Warriors officially announced that they had signed him to a two-way contract.

Via Warriors PR on Monday: "The Golden State Warriors have signed center Usman Garuba to a two-way contract, it was announced today."

Garuba was initially the 23rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has spent two seasons playing for Houston.

His career averages are 2.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 47.5% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range in 99 regular season games.

In addition to his time in the NBA, Garuba has played well in the G League.

Over five regular season games (in 2021-22), he averaged 9.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field (he has also appeared in six Showcase Cup games).

The Warriors are known to bring the best out of their role players, so this has the potential to be a fantastic signing.

The franchise has won four NBA Championships over the previous nine seasons, and last year, they lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Los Angeles Lakers.
