Kevin Huerter's Viral Tweet After The 3-Point Contest

Kevin Huerter sent out a tweet after participating in the 3-Point Contest.

On Saturday night of NBA All-Star Weekend, the highly anticipated 3-Point Contest took place in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The contestants featured Kevin Huerter, Buddy Hield, Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, Jayson Tatum, Julius Randle, Tyler Herro and Lauri Markkanen.

Lillard won the contest, beating Haliburton and Hield in the final round.

This had been his third time doing the event, but his first time winning.

Huerter, in his fifth season in the NBA, did the event for the first time and lost in the first round.

Afterward, he sent out a tweet saying that he would do the 3-Point Contest again in the future.

His post has nearly 8,000 likes and over 555,000 impressions in less than 24 hours.

Huerter: "Not what we envisioned, that’s life tho. Incredible experience! I’ll be back."

The former Maryland star is one of the best shooters in the league and is currently making a career-high 2.6 three-pointers per contest.

His total averages are 14.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per contest (while shooting 47.8% from the field and 39.2% from the three-point range).

The 24-year-old spent the first four seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks and was traded to the Sacramento Kings over the offseason.

He has helped them completely turn around their franchise, as they went into the All-Star Break with a 32-25 record in 57 games, which has them as the third seed in the Western Conference.

The Kings have not been to the NBA Playoffs since 2006, but the drought appears likely to end in 2023.
