Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Warriors-Kings Game

Klay Thompson moved up on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors are in Sacramento, facing off against the Kings.

During the game, Klay Thompson made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list.

Thompson came into the evening with 14,396 career points, and he has now moved ahead of Jojo White (14,399) for 172nd on the list.

Following White, the next player for Thompson to pass will be Nate Thurmond (14,437). 

Thompson entered the matchup with averages of 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 40.2% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range in 16 games. 

The Warriors are 8-9 in their first 17 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference. 

Most recently, they beat the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 118-112, and Thompson had 15 points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal while shooting 3/11 from the field and 3/8 from the three-point range in 29 minutes. 

Following the Kings, the Warriors will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. 

Thompson was the 11th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Washington State. 

He has spent his entire career with the Golden State Warriors and has career averages of 19.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 45.4% from the field and 41.5% from the three-point range in 732 regular season games (he has also appeared in 158 NBA playoff games).
