Klay Thompson Made NBA History In Warriors-Knicks Game

Klay Thompson moved up on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

UPDATE: The Warriors won by a score of 110-99, and Klay Thompson finished with 16 points and five rebounds.    

On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors are playing the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. 

During the game, Klay Thompson made history by moving ahead of three-time NBA Champion Byron Scott (15,097) for 149th on the all-time scoring list

Following Scott, the next player for Thompson to pass will be Kevin Love (15,239). 

Thompson came into the evening with averages of 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range in 54 games.  

The five-time NBA All-Star has come off the bench in six straight games and has been very productive in a reserve role.  

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 30-27 record in 57 games. 

They are 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Washington Wizards by a score of 123-112. 

Thompson led the team with 25 points, three rebounds and four assists while shooting 9/16 from the field and 6/11 from the three-point range in 27 minutes of playing time. 

Following the Knicks, the Warriors will travel to Canada for a showdown with the Toronto Raptors on Friday evening. 

On the road, they have gone 14-12 in 26 games away from San Francisco. 

Thompson is in his 11th season playing in the NBA (all with Golden State), and has career averages of 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 45.3% from the field and 41.3% from the three-point range in 770 games.
