BREAKING: Los Angeles Lakers Release 3 Players

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived three players.

The Los Angeles Lakers have gone 2-3 in their first five preseason games and are coming off a 108-97 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday (at home).

Since the preseason is almost over, teams have to make roster cuts, and on Monday, the Lakers announced that they have waived three players.

Via The Lakers: "The Lakers have requested waivers on Vincent Valerio-Bodon, Damion Baugh, and Scotty Pippen Jr."

Pippen Jr. played in six games for the Lakers last season, and he averaged 2.3 points per contest while shooting 33.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.

The former Vanderbilt star also played well in the G League and had averages of 21.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field in 19 regular season games (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games).

Valerio-Bodon went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft.

He is coming off a year where he averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 50.3% from the field and 41.2% from the three-point range in 30 games for Sopron KC.

Baugh went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing four seasons of college basketball (two for Memphis and two for TCU).

This past year, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 33.0% from the three-point range in 29 games.

Meanwhile, the Lakers will play their first game of the regular season on October 24 against the Denver Nuggets (in Colorado).
