Los Angeles Lakers Reportedly "Kicking The Tires" On This 5x NBA All-Star

ESPN's Brian Windhorst mentioned that the Los Angeles Lakers are "kicking the tires" on Kevin Love (while appearing on the Dan Patrick Show).

Recently, Shams Charania and Jason Lloyd of The Athletic reported that "the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kevin Love are finalizing a contract buyout."

Love is a five-time NBA All-Star and is in his ninth season playing for the Cavs.

In 2016, he helped them win the NBA Championship over the Golden State Warriors (and they made the NBA Finals four times in a row from 2015-18).

That said, the 34-year-old is no longer the star he once was and is currently averaging 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest (while shooting 35.4% from the three-point range).

On Friday, ESPN's Brian Windhorst was on the Dan Patrick Show and mentioned that the Los Angeles Lakers were "kicking the tires" on Love.

Patrick: "What about the Lakers reuniting with LeBron? Could you see Kevin fit into whatever they're doing?"

Windhorst: "I think the Lakers are definitely kicking the tires there and looking. I don't think it's the best fit for him."

Love and James were teammates for four seasons on the Cavs, and they made the NBA Finals every year they played together.

In addition, the Lakers rank 26th in the NBA in three-point shooting (33.7%), so Love could be a valuable addition to their bench.

In 2021-22, the former UCLA star shot 39.2% from the three-point range and has shot over 37% in seven different seasons.

Love will continue to be a player talked about, as many teams will likely be interested in signing the former fifth-overall pick.

He has played in 853 regular season games and has career averages of 17.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest (while shooting 37.2% from the three-point range).
