On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 132-126.

Game 2 will be back at Ball Arena in Denver on Thursday evening before the teams go to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.

Following the loss, Hall of Famer (and Lakers legend) Magic Johnson sent out several tweets with his thoughts on the game.

Johnson's first tweet: "Laker Nation, Nikola Jokić dominated the Lakers and finished with a 34 point, 21 rebound, 14 assist triple double. He had a lot of help from Murray who scored 31 points. Overall, it was a great team effort by the Nuggets to beat our Lakers."

Johnson's second tweet: "The Nuggets controlled the boards and fast break points."

Johnson's third tweet: "Anthony Davis’s 40 points are overlooked in this Lakers loss. The starting backcourt, Russell and Schroder, combined for only 14 points. If the Lakers are going to win Game 2, they both have to play better."

Johnson's fourth tweet: "The Lakers need to regroup and clean up some things for Game 2."

Jokic was sensational, and the Lakers will have to find a way to slow him down if they want to win the series.

In addition to his dominant numbers, he also shot an extremely efficient 12/17 from the field (71%) and 3/3 from the three-point range (100%).

Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 40 points, ten rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks while shooting 14/23 from the field and 1/1 from the three-point range.

Six players on the Nuggets scored in double-digits, while four scored in double-digits on the Lakers.

The Nuggets are now 7-0 at home during the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
