Magic Johnson's Viral Post On X About Anthony Edwards After Timberwolves-Jazz Game
On Monday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Utah Jazz by a score of 114-104 in Salt Lake City.
During the game, All-Star guard Anthony Edwards had an enormous dunk over John Collins that went viral.
He finished the game with 32 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 13/23 from the field.
Many people were sharing the dunk on social media, and one person who sent out a post was Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.
His post had over 5,000 likes in seven hours.
Johnson wrote: "Anthony Edwards is the greatest in-game dunker in the NBA today and one of the most exciting and electrifying players because of his athleticism! His dunk reminds me of the best in-game dunkers I played against - Dr. J, Michael Jordan, and Dominique Wilkins!"
Johnson is a five-time NBA Champion, and among the ten best players ever so his high praise is noteworthy.
Edwards was the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of UGA and has established himself as one of the best players in the league at just 22 years old.
He is averaging 26.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 37.0% from the three-point range in 65 games.
The Timberwolves have made the NBA playoffs in each of the previous two seasons and are currently the second seed in the Western Conference with a 47-21 record in 68 games.
They will host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday evening.
