Kevin Durant's Viral Post On X After Aaron Donald Retires From NFL

Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns) sent out a post on X after Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams) retired from the NFL.

Aaron Donald has been among the most dominant players in the NFL for a decade. 

However, the Los Angeles Rams star announced (on Friday) that he is retiring.  

Many people reacted to the news on social media, and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant sent out a post on X that had over 22,000 likes and 1.1 million impressions in less than 24 hours.  

Durant wrote: "Enjoy your retirement 99. The work u put in on that gridiron is unmatched."

Donald was the 13th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and played ten seasons in the league (all with the Rams).  

His first two seasons were when the Rams played in St. Louis, and the following eight were in Los Angeles. 

He made the Pro Bowl in all ten seasons and helped the Rams win the 2021 Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals. 

The 32-year-old is a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer. 

As for Durant, the 35-year-old is having another sensational season with averages of 28.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 52.6% from the field and 42.0% from the three-point range. 

The Suns are currently the seventh seed in the Western Confernece with a 39-28 record in 67 games. 

They have gone 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 107-96 (on Friday evening in North Carolina). 

Following the Hornets, the Suns will play their next game on Sunday afternoon when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks.
