Russell Westbrook Made NBA History In Clippers-Kings Game

Russell Westbrook moved up on the NBA's all-time games played list.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are in Sacramento, facing off against De'Aaron Fox and the Kings.

Russell Westbrook is playing in his 1,111th career regular season game, which moves him ahead of Kurt Thomas for 73rd on the all-time games played list.

Following Thomas, the next player for Westbrook to pass will be Zach Randolph (1,116).

Westbrook entered the matchup with averages of 12.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.3% from the field and 27.9% from the three-point range in 16 games. 

The Clippers are 7-9 over their first 16 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference. 

Most recently, they lost to the Denver Nuggets (at home) by a score of 113-104. 

In 27 minutes of playing time, Westbrook had 14 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block while shooting 5/9 from the field. 

Following the Kings, the Clippers will play their next game on Thursday when they visit the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. 

Westbrook is one of the best point guards of all time and will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day. 

He is in his second season with the Clippers, and has also spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder over his 16-year career. 

His career averages are 22.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 30.5% from the three-point range.
