Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Made NBA History In Jazz-Thunder Game

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made NBA history during Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Utah Jazz in Oklahoma.  

The Thunder won by a score of 119-107, and Chet Holmgren led the way with 35 points, 14 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks.  

All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a fantastic game with 31 points, three rebounds, seven assists and four steals while shooting 12/22 from the field and 2/4 from the three-point range in 33 minutes of playing time. 

He also made NBA history.

Via NBA.com/Stats: "SGA just totaled his 50th game of the season scoring 30+ points, becoming the 1st player to reach this mark since James Harden in 2018-19. 

He's the first player to do so at the age of 25 or younger since Tracy McGrady in 2002-03, and Michael Jordan in 1987-88 before that."

Gilgeous-Alexander is in the middle of a remarkable season with averages of 30.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 54.4% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range in 67 games.  

He has led the Thunder to an excellent 48-20 record in 68 games, which has them as the first seed in the Western Conference.  

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Following the Jazz, the Thunder will play their next game on Friday evening when they visit the Toronto Raptors in Canada. 

As for the Jazz, they dropped to 29-40 in 69 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.
