Pass Pippen? Steph Curry Made NBA History In Kings-Warriors Game

Steph Curry made NBA history in Game 3.

UPDATE: Steph Curry finished the game with 36 points and also moved ahead of Dirk Nowitzki for 16th on the list.

On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center in San Francisco for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series.

During the game, two-time MVP Steph Curry made NBA history by moving up on the all-time playoff scoring list.

Curry came into the night with 3,628 career playoff points, which ranked 18th on the list and only needed 15 to move ahead of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen (3,642) for 17th.

Via The Warriors: "Stephen Curry has passed Scottie Pippen for 17th most points in NBA Playoff history."

The nine-time NBA All-Star is widely seen as a top-ten player of all time and has spent his entire career with the Warriors.

In four out of the previous eight seasons, he has led the franchise to the NBA Championship (and they have made the NBA Finals six times in that span).

Last year, Curry won his first Finals MVP when the Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

This year, the Warriors had an up-and-down season, but they were able to finish as the sixth seed with a 44-38 record.

Their biggest struggles came on the road, but at home, they went 33-8 in the 41 games they hosted at the Chase Center.

In each of the first two games of the series, Curry has scored 28+ points, but the Warriors find themselves in an 0-2 hole.

The winner of the series will face off with the Los Angeles Lakers or Memphis Grizzlies in the second round.
