Stephen A. Smith's Shocking Quote About Steph Curry Went Viral

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith had a bold quote about Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry.

On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers in San Francisco for Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.

The Lakers won the first game by a score of 117-112, so the Warriors will need a victory to avoid falling into an 0-2 hole before going to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.

On Wednesday, Stephen A. Smith (on ESPN's First Take) shared a quote about Steph Curry that is going viral on Twitter.

Smith: "If Steph Curry beats LeBron in this series, and dare I say, wins his fifth NBA Championship, we might have to remove LeBron James off of Mount Rushmore and put Steph Curry on it."

Smith said that his current Mount Rushmore is James, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul- Jabbar and Bill Russell (and that he believes James is the second-best player ever).

The clip of Smith has over 1.6 million views, 11,000 likes and 8.5 million impressions.

Curry and James have faced off in the NBA Finals four times (when James was on the Cleveland Cavaliers) and the Warriors went 3-1 on those matchups.

That said, Curry's teams were much more talented.

Right now, James is 38 and finished the regular season with averages of 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field.

He is a four-time NBA Champion, four-time MVP and has been to the NBA Finals ten times.

As for Curry, the 35-year-old averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists per contest this season while shooting 49.3% from the field and 42.7% from the three-point range.

The former Davidson star has been to the NBA Finals six times, won four NBA Championships and two MVPs.
