On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks played a thrilling game in Texas.

Despite Jalen Brunson scoring 61 points, the Spurs were able to come away with a 130-126 victory (in overtime).

Star rookie Victor Wembanyama finished his night with 40 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block while shooting 13/22 from the field and 4/9 from the three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

During the game, Wembanyama had an impressive dunk that got a lot of views on social media.

With the victory, the Spurs improved to 18-56 in 74 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.

They have played well lately and are in the middle of a three-game winning streak.

Following the Knicks, the Spurs will remain at home to host Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening in San Antonio.

At home, they have gone 10-27 in 37 games.

Wembanyama has had an excellent rookie season and is averaging 21.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.4 blocks per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 32.4% from the three-point range in 65 games.

As for the Knicks, they dropped to 44-29 in 73 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak.

They will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
