The NBA season just began, but if no one knew any better they'd think they were watching a playoff game at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday evening. 

The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics put on an absolute show in the nationally televised ESPN game. 

Both team's were playing their first game of the regular season. 

After two overtimes, the Knicks held on to beat the Celtics 138-134. 

The Knicks had a lead at the end of regulation, but Marcus Smart hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer that sent the game into overtime.

The Knicks were on their way to a 116-113 win, but Smart's shot tied the game 116-116. 

At the end of the second overtime, Derrick Rose was the hero, as he hit a clutch shot to give the Knicks what would end up being the game-winner. 

The clip of Rose giving the Knicks a 138-134 lead (which ended up being the final score) can be seen in a tweet embedded below from ESPN. 

Rose finished with nine points, four rebounds and five assists. 

The Knicks were led by Julius Randle who had 35 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. 

Over on the Celtics side, Smart, who hit the big shot at the end of regulation finished the game with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists. 

However, the team was truly led by Jaylen Brown who dropped 46 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists.
