Los Angeles Lakers Reportedly Interested In Recent NBA Champion

According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in Bruce Brown.

Bruce Brown is coming off a very productive season with the Denver Nuggets, where he averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 48.3% from the field and 35.8% from the three-point range.

The former Miami star helped the Nuggets finish as the first seed in the Western Conference with a 53-29 record.

In addition, the Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat, which is the first title in the franchise's history.

Brown will become a free agent this summer, as he reportedly declined his $6.8 million player option for next season.

On Wednesday, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reported that one team interested in the 26-year-old is the Los Angeles Lakers.

Singer: "One team with significant interest in signing Bruce Brown away from Denver is the Los Angeles Lakers, multiple sources told @denverpost.

The Lakers could offer him the full MLE ($12.3M annually). Nuggets can only offer up to $7.8M this year."

In addition to the Nuggets, Brown has also had stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons (he was the 42nd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft).

His career averages are 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 48.2% from the field.

The Lakers are coming off a season where they finished as the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record.

They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs but were swept by Brown and the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
