Key Milwaukee Bucks Player Will Reportedly Enter Free Agency

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Jevon Carter will enter NBA free agency.

Jevon Carter has been a solid role player in the NBA since being selected with the 32nd pick in the 2018 Draft.

This past year, he played in 81 regular season games for the Milwaukee Bucks and had averages of 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 42.3% from the field and 42.1% from the three-point range.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the former West Virginia star will enter NBA free agency and decline his $2.2 million player option for next season.

Via Scotto: "Milwaukee Bucks guard Jevon Carter will decline his $2.24 million player option for the 2023-24 season and become an unrestricted free agent, a league source told @hoopshype. Carter, a strong defender, shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range in 81 regular-season games played."

Carter will likely garner interest from many teams because he is a good defender and shooter.

Before the Bucks, the 27-year-old also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies.

His career averages are 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 39.7% from the three-point range in 309 regular season games (he has also appeared in 22 NBA Playoff games).

As for the Bucks, they are coming off an impressive regular season where they finished as the first seed in the Eastern Conference and had the best record in the NBA (58-24).

That said, they lost in the first round of the Playoffs to Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in five games.
