Opinion: The Chicago Bulls MUST Sign This 5x NBA All-Star

I believe the Chicago Bulls can save their season by signing recent Los Angeles Clippers point guard John Wall.

Last year, the Chicago Bulls made the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season.

Therefore, they came into the 2022-23 season with high expectations.

So far, the Bulls have been a massive disappointment and went into the All-Star break as the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 26-33 record in 59 games.

One of the biggest reasons for their struggles has been the fact that starting point guard Lonzo Ball has not played since the middle of last season

When Ball played, the Bulls went 22-13 in those 35 games (via StatMuse), and they have been nowhere near as good since his initial injury.

I believe they can save their season by signing recent Los Angeles Clippers point guard John Wall.

Why?

Wall was recently traded from the Clippers to the Houston Rockets on the day of the trading deadline.

Following the trade, the former Kentucky star was waived by the Rockets, so he is a free agent available to sign with any team in the league.

Therefore, the Bulls would be able to add him on a minimum contract that holds no long-term risk.

He is no longer the superstar that he once was, but Wall is a more than capable point guard who is averaging 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest in 34 games this season.

On Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Clippers were signing Russell Westbrook.

K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago quote tweeted Wojnarowski and wrote: "Bulls could pivot to John Wall, Patrick Beverley"

Wall is one of the best passers in the history of the NBA, which is what the Bulls need.

They already have DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, so scoring is not lacking.

Instead, a true floor general (like Wall) is desperately what the Bulls need to fill the void of Ball.

Wall ranks seventh all-time in assists per game (8.86 APG).

For reference, he is ahead of Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo and other legendary passers.

This is a move the Bulls must make in order to save their season and get into the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
