Should The Golden State Warriors Sign This Recent Los Angeles Lakers Player?

Patrick Beverley is a free agent who could be a good fit for the Golden State Warriors.

Patrick Beverley was recently traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic, and following the trade, the veteran guard was bought out of his contract.

Therefore, Beverley is currently a free agent available to sign with any team in the league.

I believe the Golden State Warriors could be a good fit for the 34-year-old.

Why?

Beverley has never been an All-Star or won an NBA Championship, but he has always helped teams win.

Out of his ten seasons in the league, he has played in the NBA Playoffs eight times.

Last season, the former second-round pick helped the Minnesota Timberwolves make the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

The winning mentality that he plays with would be an excellent addition to a Warriors team that has won four NBA Championships in the previous eight seasons.

In addition, the Warriors have struggled on defense this season.

They currently rank 27th in the NBA for opponents' points per game (118.5 PPG).

The three-time All-Defensive Team player has always been known for his superb on-ball defense that could help the Warriors slow down the other team's top guards.

Lastly, the Warriors would be able to sign him for the league minimum, which means there would be no long-term risk if he didn't work out.

On the season, Beverley is averaging 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.

The Warriors are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 29-29 record in 58 games, and adding Beverley is something they should highly consider.
