Charles Leclerc Out Of Bahrain Grand Prix After Losing Power

The Ferrari driver has retired from the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc had to retire from the Bahrain Grand Prix on the 41st lap of the race.

Leclerc went into the race with a new power electrical component, however, Sky Sports reporter Martin Brundle explained it looked as though it was an electrical issue that has caused Leclerc to have to stop on the track.

The Monegasque driver is hoping to threaten Max Verstappen for the drivers' championship title this season, so this will not be the start to the season the Ferrari driver wanted.

Ferrari will now be putting all of their hopes for a podium finish on Leclerc's teammate Carlos Sainz who is currently sitting in third place on race 42. Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin is close behind putting pressure on the team, along with Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.

"'No,no,no, what happened guys? No power' Charles Leclerc's Ferrari comes to a halt!"

"Charles Leclerc right now"

"Charles is out."

Update

The Ferrari team have confirmed that it was an engine issue which caused Leclerc to retire from the race. This raised questions about the Maranello squads reliability, especially after a terrible 2022 for Ferrari powertrains.
