F1 fans have been rushing to social media over the last-minute change to the Miami Grand Prix to shorten two out of the three DRS zones.

This comes after the same change was made to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix where the second DRS zone was shortened by 100m.

Now, just ahead of the Miami Grand Prix weekend, the FIA has confirmed the same change to two out of three of the DRS zones in Miami. The first and second DRS zones have been shortened by 75 metres and the third has been left the same.

This has left many fans upset over the change as they question why the decision to change the DRS zones was made. One fan posted to social media:

"I'd love to know why. The drivers all complained about it in Baku & it made for a fairly dull race. Last year's Miami race was pretty dull too, why make it worse?"

Another fan posted, sarcastically:

"Ahh yes. Because that worked wonderfully in Baku."

Someone else who clearly has mixed feelings on the situation has posted:

"Didn't they see what happened last weekend? Not a DRS fan, but it still seems to be necessary..."

Fans are disappointed that this could reduce the likelihood of interesting and entertaining overtakes during the race on Sunday. One disgruntled fan posted:

"Pff less overtaking still for this track!! Terrible."

The Miami Grand Prix weekend kicks off tomorrow with the first two practice sessions. Saturday will host the third and final practice session and qualifying session ahead of the grand prix on Sunday.
