The F1 world was reminded, once again, why Daniel Ricciardo has been a fan-favourite for a long time in a recent video from the Australian Grand Prix paddock.

Ricciardo parted ways with McLaren at the end of the 2022 season and fans were distraught to learn that the Australian driver had not secured a permanent seat for the 2023 season. However, Ricciardo signed with Red Bull, making a return to the team as their third driver.

Although we are not seeing the eight-time grand prix winner on the track, the Austrian team brought him out in full-force for the Australian Grand Prix this weekend for lots of marketing and promo. Even whilst the dramatic race was going on, some of the loudest screams from the crowd erupted when Ricciardo was on the screen.

Ricciardo uploaded a hilarious video in collaboration with The Inspired Unemployed, as a 'pit crew' going around the paddock in Melbourne and fans have been loving it.

One fan commented saying that Ricciardo was "the best thing to happen to social media", writing:

"And it was here we all realised that DRic being a reserve driver is the best thing to happen to social media"

Another fan responded:

"The colab nobody asked for, but EVERYONE wanted" [sic]

Someone else wrote that "McLaren would never" have brought fans this sort of content. The commented:

"Love having you back on Redbull. McLaren would never"

Another fan couldn't resist poking fun at Red Bull's cost cap saga, writing:

"You boys are going to put RB [Red Bull] over the cap"

Other fans were gushing over the video, writing:

"Been back 2 minutes and he is already carrying Red Bulls social media"

"Gees it’s nice to see him having so much fun. He’s everyone’s favourite."

"So fkn iconic"
