F1 News: Charles Leclerc Posts Heartbreaking Message After Monaco Qualifying Penalty

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris may have clashed, but their friendship is evident through their latest posts.

In a lighthearted turn of events, Lando Norris responded hilariously to the official Formula 1 Twitter account when his Q3 incident which resulted in Charles Leclerc receiving a three-place penalty was brought up. The incident occurred during a thrilling qualifying session on Leclerc's home soil, creating a rather scary moment for the McLaren driver. Following this, Leclerc also posted to his Twitter, but this time with a heartbreaking meme.

The incident took place while Leclerc was on a slow lap in preparation for a flying run when Norris approached the Ferrari at high speed in the iconic tunnel section of the track. Forced to back out of the lap, Norris experienced a heart-pounding moment as he slammed on the brakes, and as a result of the incident, Leclerc received a three-place grid penalty, demoting his qualifying result from P3 to P6 on the grid.

After the qualifying session, Norris displayed his mischievous side by jokingly suggesting that Leclerc should be "disqualified" for what transpired. However, the fun and games didn't end there. The Formula 1 Twitter account shared footage of the incident, leading to an unexpected and hilarious reply from Norris.

The tweet included a meme referencing a memorable karting collision between Leclerc and Max Verstappen, which marked the beginning of their rivalry. And this humorous post added another layer of amusement to the incident, showcasing Norris' clever wit.

Leclerc himself used a heartbreaking meme to express his frustration over the grid drop. Starting from P6 in Monaco, where overtaking opportunities are scarce, poses an even greater challenge for the home hero as he aims for a second podium finish in the 2023 Formula 1 season.
