Jos Verstappen, father of Max Verstappen, made comments following the Bahrain GP concerning the stability and unity of Red Bull Racing under Christian Horner's stewardship. The situation has cast a shadow over the team's preparations for the upcoming races, with allegations of misconduct against Horner at the centre of the dispute. Despite these challenges, Horner remains undeterred, focusing on the team's objectives and the defence of their world titles.

During a team press conference before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Horner made it clear that the team had engaged in discussions following the events at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He emphasised the collective ambition to move forward and concentrate on the future, underscoring the importance of team unity and focus on defending their championships. He explained:

"I'm obviously aware of the comments that were made.

"There was a discussion subsequent to the race and I think everybody's focus is very much on the future.

"The team's focus is very much on defending both of these these world titles we have fought so hard to achieve.

"Our focus is very much on the future and, as I say, discussions took place following the race in Bahrain and we are all looking forward."

Jos Verstappen commented after the Bahrain Grand Prix:

“There is tension here while he remains in position.

“The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems.”

Red Bull conducted its own independent investigation into the allegations against Horner, which concluded with no findings of misconduct. This outcome has not entirely dissipated the tension, as alleged leaked information and claims continue to circulate, fuelling further speculation and concern within the F1 community.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has publicly expressed his disappointment over the controversy overshadowing the sport's appeal and the excitement of the new season. He called for a shift in focus towards the competition and the enjoyment it brings, while also acknowledging the FIA's current stance of non-intervention due to the absence of a formal complaint.
